A Study on the Influence of the Preference Factors of Medical Services upon Utilization of Patients¡¯ Caregivers in Geriatric Hospitals

Abstract
The purpose of the study is to provide suggestions for improving satisfaction with use of medical service provided by geriatric hospitals through an analysis of 4 medical service factors affecting satisfaction with use of medical service by persons tending the old people patients in the geriatric hospitals.
First, nursing service turned out to have scored the highest average points of medical service factors at the surveyed geriatric hospitals with 3.97, followed by clinical process, caregiving service, and environment and facilities. Second, from the comparison of satisfaction with medical service by factors affecting selection of hospitals by patients"s caregivers, it was revealed that satisfaction with clinical process, nursing service, caregiving service, and environment and facilities in order played a statistically significant role for patients"s caregivers to select a hospital. Third, a comparison of satisfaction with medical service by factors affecting use characters of hospitals by patients"s caregivers showed that satisfaction with clinical process, nursing service, caregiving service, and environment?facilities exercised statistically significant influence depending on type of hospital operation. Fourth, an analysis into impacts of medical service factors upon satisfaction of patients"s caregivers with use of medical service at geriatric hospitals made it clear that each sub-factor had statistically significant positive (+) influence upon their satisfaction with medical service.
